Devlog V1.0.4


Hello again!!! For our fourth Devlog, we wanted to talk about the changes we have made during this last couple of weeks.  As with the previous devlogs, we will be discussing the new additions we have made during this time to the game and some missing features that we will be adding soon and you can expect in the next updates .

Let´s start by announcing that finally we have a starting menu, as well as a credits page.

Fighting Time!! 

In this part of the game (fighting)  we have added health bars for both charactes, with it´s complete functionality. We have also included a win condition, when one players health reaches 0, the other player wins. This shows a message in the screen and a button to return to the main menu. For the next updates, we will be adding the power-ups, which you can pick up and affect the chess gameplay.

Chess Time!!

In this section we have finally added the transition back to the fighting part when the timer strikes 0, this means that the main mechanic of the game is finally implemented. But, sadly, we haven´t been able to add the function of keeping your progress when you change the scene. This means that when the game changes back to the fighting part, the health is back to full, and when it changes back to chess the pieces are all in their starting position.  Additionaly, we have added some other key features, as the checkmate, the promotion of the pawns and a special square, which will give a power-up to the player that lands on it.  We will be adding soon the power-ups for both parts of the game, as well as the progress from scene to scene. Once this is added, we will finally have our first official release of Chess Boxing!!!

 

Sadly we are unable to add a new build but be expecting it in the next days!!
